F.A.Q.
        Who are you guys again?
      • We're Ladies and Gentlemen, a rock and/or roll band from Tucson, Arizona.  Our style has been called many things: rock, punk, ska, bad, living room rock, etc.

I saw this one show you did where [fill in the blank show].  What was up with that?

      • Ladies and Gentlemen are rapidly becoming well known for their on-stage antics.  Usually at L.A.G. shows, we employ the gimmick technique of "getting people to stick around while you play your songs," utilizing one specific gimmick per show.  Some of the best gimmicks of recent memory have been: a game show where the audience must answer a trivia question right in order for the band to play a song, a show where the band broke up on stage, and a show that re-lived the British Invasion of the early sixties.

How long have you guys been together?

      • Under different names, going on 4 years.  The official timeline is as follows:
        • Originally, it was Garth Bryson (guitar), Alex Porter (guitar & vocals), and Will Moodie (bass) as a surf trio under the working name The Wavers.  This band lasted about one month.
        • After Will Moodie left, Garth and Alex picked up drummer Sean Rangel as well as the name Letterbox Edition.  Different bass players were auditioned (Lori Mitchell, Aaron Smith (of The Fake Beards and Slingshot)), but Garth ended up with the 4-stringer.  This band lasted more than a year, gaining a small fan base in the local Tucson scene, most notably for their parody of Puff Daddy's "I'll Be Missing You" titled "Biggee's Death Was Fake."
        • With the announcement that Sean would be attending college in San Francisco, a new band was quickly formed.  The Communists contained the same core, Garth and Alex, but this time picked up two new members, Andrea Kingsley (drummer, friend of both Garth and Alex) and Clay Letson (guitar, elementary school friend of Alex).  By this point, Alex had completely switched from guitar to keyboard and accordion.  The band recorded a demo tape, Listen To This Music, which featured their big hit "Love Song (I Love The Fishes)."  This band grew pretty big (on a local scale), playing their last show with Nerf Herder and the RX Bandits.
        • Sadly, Andrea was moving away like the drummer before her.  Forced with no other alternative, the band decided to replace her.  After a brutal 2 hour audition, Mike Herman joined up as the new drummer and Ladies and Gentlemen was formed.

love you.  Do you love me?
      • Mike: Yes
      • Alex: No
      • Garth: No
      • Clay: Yes

      What's with the outfits?

      • As mentioned in an above question, Ladies and Gentlemen like to try visual experiments to judge audience reaction.  Usually, this question is in regard to our mechanic-type jumpsuits, which show unity and yet don't infringe on individuality.

      So who's avalaible?

      • Mike: Careful, girls, he's engaged!
      • Alex: Careful, girls, he's got a girlfriend!
      • Clay: Careful, guys, he's heterosexual (and has a girlfriend)!
      • Garth: Careful, girls, he's a sex offender!

How come there's no ladies in Ladies and Gentlemen?

      • No, you see: we're the Gentlemen.  We get the Ladies!

You think you're pretty clever, huh?

      • Yep.

      Who writes the songs?

      • Although Alex is the main songwriter, Garth and Clay have recentlly displayed their talents during what was known as the "New Song Massacre."  The poppy number Sweet Nothings, Clay's song, debuted to a great reaction.  The audience couldn't help but cheer for Not Tonight, Garth's keyboard driven rock masterpiece.  One can only hope that they churn out some more.

What the hell is a "living room rock?"

      • [This question to be given indepth answered in the next FAQ installment]
